Social Media Marketing in Vermont
June, 2021
Yancey Red is headed for Vermont. After years of living and growing in Portland, Oregon, Yancey Red is on the move to the east coast.
As of this writing, Yancey is summering in NEPA while she searches for her Vermont home-based office. Yancey has family in the Elmore, Vermont area and is hoping to be within 50 minutes of there. However, as the Vermont housing market continues to be insane, Yancey is able to be flexible and keeps expanding her home office geographic circle. Soon, she’ll be landing her space in the Green Mountains.
So, why this move?
Well, it comes down to livability and family. When Yancey moved to Portland 20 years ago, the city was a large town that was pretty much a miracle. In this space, Yancey learned to grow into her creativity and hone her business management skills. Yancey became Yancey in Portland. Now, Portland is a large city that is surrounded by the threat of wildfires every summer. That, combined with all her family living on the east coast told her it was time to pick up and leave.
What about your Portland social media office?
Yancey is maintaining her Portland office and west coast social media clients while she lives in Vermont. The pandemic opened people up to communicating via Zoom and working with folks who aren’t necessarily nearby. All of her west coast clients are happily enjoying the benefits of Yancey’s social media marketing while she’s on the east coast.
How will you be expanding to east coast clients?
Yancey has clients all over North America. While the majority of her social media clients are on the west coast and the mountain west regions, she does currently work with several southeast and east coast-based businesses. Yancey’s been networking in Vermont through BNI and meeting some fantastic people. Once she has her home office, she will be joining a local Vermont BNI chapter.
How does it feel to be on the east coast?
Well, she’s been planning this move since January 2021 and officially left Portland on May 31. Currently, she’s working out of her childhood bedroom in Pennsylvania (not even kidding) and is loving spending time with her family. All her business partners are properly situated in their respective offices and her work is going swimmingly. Yancey really couldn’t ask for more.
What is one thing Yancey wants perspective east coast business owners to know?
Yancey brings her west coast creativity and innovation along with her east coast practicality and sensibilities. Being an east coast native while becoming a functional Yancey Red on the west coast, means she speaks both coastal languages. This is a huge advantage when it comes to digital marketing.
