Organic Social Media Marketing in Vermont
Margaret Holland Inn
Hospitality social media marketing on Instagram and Facebook for a Northfield, Vermont inn.
Welcoming tourists to central Vermont, sharing hospitality resources, and helping them live their best Vermont.
Organic social media management for a historic inn with an old world eclectic feel. Instagram is where out-of-staters research and find the inn while Facebook hosts information and resources for those visiting guests.
About The Client
The Margaret Holland Inn was purchased by our client during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since opening her doors, the inn maintains its 1920s old house feel and offers guests a cozy and inviting stay.
The Process
As is so common when businesses change hands, the current owner was not handed all the social media account logins and the verification methods previously established were no longer viable options. We have yet to gain access to the Google Business listing and we started Instagram from scratch, flagging the old account to be removed.
Social Media Results
Instagram saw a growth of followers of around one new follower per day, which then increased 8% - 10% every month. With the use of strategic hashtags and ethical engagement, the inn’s organic Instagram attracted a large New England tourism following.
Facebook’s organic strategy was to focus on using this platform as a resource for guests who are planning their Vermont trips. Tagging local restaurants, makers, and events allowed the inn to be recognized by a wider New England audience. Because local is always best, the response was supportive in multiple communities. Overall, Facebook experienced a 3% growth rate every week.
