Everett Street Autoworks
Account cleanup plus ongoing Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram management for Everett Street Autoworks, a $3 million per year shop in Portland, Oregon.
What began as a rescue mission to clean up purchased followers now flourishes in the witty and entertaining spheres of social media.
During the audit phase in 2019 we discovered their previous social media manager purchased followers and engagement without their knowledge. While the damage was severe, we felt we could clean up Twitter and Facebook rather than delete the accounts and start fresh. After several months we began to see a drop in spam followers/engagement and an increase in organic and ethical amplification.
Everett Street Autoworks is Portland’s premier auto mechanic not only because of their good work, but because they are a cast of characters Their social media reflects their unique personalities and has fun doing it.

The Process
We began working with Everett Street Autoworks in 2019 and continue managing their organic social media on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Cleaning up paid spam and ghost accounts isn’t always successful but it wasn’t luck that allowed us to grow those accounts. We dedicated time everyday for months to consistently remove bots and ethically engage on every platform. The algorithms rewarded us.
The shop’s edgy personality and unique branding allows us to bring forward humor and witty banter on all platforms. Additionally, professional photos from GMS Media and Brian McLernon Photography provide endless image opportunities.
Social Media Results
Yancey Red was able to remove 100% of all purchased followers from Twitter and Facebook. From there we were able to ethically grow the accounts through organic posting and active engagements on a daily basis. Four years later, both platforms have less than 2% bot presence.
Facebook and Instagram are responsible for the majority of engagement and these platforms are used to highlight employees, services, and share announcements. When asked, most new customers first discover the shop on Instagram through hashtag research. Many auto repair inquires come in through Facebook messenger and are routed to customer service.
