HOW WE DEFINE SOCIAL MEDIA
Lots of people hate the idea of having to use social media for their work…to get their products in front of people…to push recruitment messages….to announce their services…to give people a place to land when they search out a business’s name. But lots of people and businesses LOVE social media for the very same reasons.
WE’RE ON THE LOVE SIDE
Here’s how we define social media: it’s the place where you stick your neck out, open your windows, extend a hand, welcome people in, and help them answer the who are they and why should I care? questions.
WE BELIEVE SOCIAL MEDIA IS:
how people learn about you and your business…
how they take a quick glance…
how they scan for information…
the first place they turn…
more and more, the only place they’re turning.
Social media reflectS cultural expectations for how people and businesses communicate today.
Long ago, your storefront was all a business needed. Then they got electricity. When the lights were on, someone was there. Then they got phones. If they picked up, the store was open. Then they got lighted signs….until the day when websites answered the visibility question.
Today, social media is the main validation tool.
Social is how customers, strategic partners, and job seekers know that you’re viable. It’s a window into what’s happening. It’s how you pair your consumer and employer brands. It’s how you say you’re here, alive, and paying attention.
